The game will go on today as officially reported on texastech.com (kick-off at 6 PM, will be aired on local Fox stations).
As I stated earlier, the Mustangs are in town (Lubbock) hoping to end our bid at a BCS game this year. Well, folks, it ain't gonna happen. We have too much power on the offense and our defense is finally on track to create havoc for our nemesis.
Our challenges come the way of Nebraska (yes, they always seem to do well vs Big 12 opponents even if they are not nationally ranked & they do stink again). I do not sweat over this game, but we need to be mindful of their desire to win back their "manhood" after Tech took it during the last outing when Tech whipped them 70-10. Others keeping us (Red Raiders) on their toes, per se, are Kansas, Kansas St, and the lowly OSU Cowboys (too bad they share the same mascot as our "Boyz" in Dallas). OSU always gets fire lit under their feet versus our Red Raiders.
Other perrennial powers are the Sooners from Okie-land and the tea sippers from Austin "al-a-grade F-beef" Longhorns. I strongly believe we can beat OU again and UT is not in our league this season - never mind what the sport's pundits think (or little Colt McCoy- the "baby-cry").
Gotta go get ready. Sara, Alex, Marissa (Alex's friend) and I are attending tonight's game. We were really hoping Felicia (my other niece and another great Red Raider fan) could go with us, but she has important things to do which includes driving to Midland with her mom, Eva, and sister, Erica. Erica is my niece who is marrying her fiance, Nick, next June 13, 2009. Today, they venture into town to start looking at wedding gowns. My sister, Josie, is going with them. I hope our Mom joins them as well. Lot's of luck to them, it will be fun.
Next Tech game is next week versus UMass (we also scored cheap tickets for that game-so we are on again next Saturday). Another evening game.
