Today's stage winner was Frenchman Pierrick Federigo. Congratulations to him!
Federigo beats out Lance Armstrong at the finish line and prevents The Texan from winning his first 2010 Tour stage. From the start of today's 124 mile race, 9 riders challenged and attacked with Lance clearly taking the lead. In the end Armstrong finished in 6th as he sprinted across the finish line but was "just not quick enough" as he was quoted. The 2nd rider to cross the finish line was another Frenchman Sandy Casar who was actually one of the favorites to win the stage as the day's race began.
This will be The Texan's last Tour saying that he will indeed retire especially after his disastrous performance during this year's stage 8 and not being able to perform well during several other 2010 stages. Had Armstrong won today's stage, it would have been his 26th overall stage victory in his Le Tour de France career.
