you decide...i decided Tech belongs in a BCS bowl before UT (but so do Boise 12-0 St & Ball St 12-0)

Several sport's pundits (ie: Craig James) also believe that TECH was wronged and they are the reason i make my case for TECH!
my (dora carey's) breakdown on why OU and TECH should be ahead of UT (whinyhorns).
Points that big 12 south respective offenses scored on their opponents (these points matter):
OU overall points are 640...comes to 53.33 average points scored per game
TECH's overall points are 535...comes to 44.58 average points scored per game
UT's overall points are 527...comes to 43.91 average points scored per game

Oct 11th: UT beats OU 45-35 during their annual red river shoot-out. at a neutral location. oh really, neutral. it should be played in austin since dallas has always been in love with UT. the newspapers and t.v./radio stations there make it seem like it is all longhorn country. just give it up and call them the dallas longhorns for goodness sake. that stupid game always has and always will favor UT. OU ended up with 2 major injuries during that game and UT took advantage (as teams should) and they prevailed. "sans" (french for "without) those OU injuries and it is a different outcome and score favoring OU (sorry UT, but u won by default). neutral location my foot, please sport's pundits, you know not what you say. these views i just posted by no means make me favor OU over TECH either overall, just for this one game.
Nov. 1st: TECH beats UT 39-33...some say Tech barely won, but Tech had a handle on the game from the get-go. remember that Tech could have and should have scored one final time when UT unsuccessfully tried to lateral the ball after Tech squibb-kicked it back to them with 1 second left in the game. our special teams recovered it and should have run it in for the quick 6. let's not forget that earier in the game, UT unfairly scored a touchdown when their offensive player illegally tackled our defensive player. that call was taken back and then UT wrongfully scored. then there's that other bad call when Crabtree should have scored but was called for "O" interference, nevermind the UT defensive player fell down on his own and Crabtree was nowhere near him. and as for that beautiful fade route with 8 seconds left when Crabtree caught Harrell's throw, Crabtree was not double covered, it was single-coverage. UT screwed up and the defensive player (#3 brown) was all alone in trying to cover Crabtree. no one successfully covers Crabtree all alone, especially not in a route play. the UT safety showed up late and ran right past Crabtree and brown (loser). thus, it was single coverage not double coverage as UT and "big baby-cry" mack brown claimed it was in trying to justify how they had just blown a play. no matter, Crabtree would have caught that ball since brown never looked back even if it had indeed been double-coverage (which it WAS NOT!). Crabtree is too strong as is HIS WILL TO WIN!
Nov 22nd: OU beats TECH 65-21. Tech coaches were too non-chalant in their play calls and in their preparation. mike leach knows bob stoops and how much of a bully he (bob) can be. bob did not inherit the surname of "stoops" for nada. that man will stoop at nothin' to win. our bad.
okay...here we are, OU lost ot UT, UT lost to Tech, Tech lost to OU.
To settle things...i list reasons why OU should rank ahead of Tech and why Tech moves ahead of UT:
OU puts up 60+ points against the last 4 teams with 2 of them being ranked (Tech and OK St), make it 5 games with 58 + points if you go back to include K-St. Overall, OU has beaten 4 of 5 ranked teams dating back to their win over TCU in late Sept. their loss to UT was a mere blooper (yes, i said a blooper - this is my blog and i call them as i see them indeed).
UT has beaten 3 out of their 4 ranked opponents (not Tech) then they go on to beat Baylor, Kansas and A&M (big whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....big freakin' deal, UT!)
TECH loses late in the season to OU (bad loss, i already acknowledged it) but TECH did beat the almighty 'horns. plus, TECH - after their win over UT, went on to play a tougher schdeule (5th toughest in the NCAA).
Mike Leach said it best then he said the champ should be measured as the student-athlete that they should be. afterall, most collegiate players are at their respective colleges on athletic scholarships. our Tech football program graduates 79%, while UT graduates a meagor 50% and OU stinks at 46%. Too bad college football fails to place an emphasis on overall accomplishments with grades taken into account or Tech would be representing the big 12 south division against Mizzou on Sat. night. style points and not gpa's are what unfortunately count thus bob stoop's dumb players edge out our more intelligent Red Raiders. Even UT seems smarter than the OU "hillbillies". also, Tech does have 2 Heisman hopefuls compared to just 1 for the other big 12 teams (Mizzou, UT & OU).
I give leeway to OU for being ahead of Tech in the polls but not to UT. I believe offense not defense is what wins games and makes the teams successful. it matters not how much opponents score against you as long as the offense keeps you ahead in the game. UT should be getting the Cotton Bowl, not Tech. TECH deserves a BCS bowl and the sport's pundits also need to shut up and go to a red river game and see if it really is neutral. it may be in the middle of both schools (UT & OU) mileage-wise, but it really benefits UT as i already stated. Geez'uz, PPL, it is played in the state of TX. the RR rivalry will be played in dallas through-out 2015 as both school's AD's already signed back up for it. how significant would it be for the big 12 to rid itself of the RR rivalry and have UT play in Norman (spooky hillbillies) and vice versa. the victors could then lay better claim to actual victory after having played in each other's actual back-yard. Jerry Jones is still trying to get Tech and OK St to play a rivalry game each year at his new Texas Stadium starting next year. I do not like that idea unless Tech can keep 6 home homes regardless. take "neutral location" and shove it up the ole proverbial crevasse...these games benefit both school's for certain monetarily speaking; however, the out-of-state team could always justify a possible loss for obvious reasons. neutral games do not benefit the big 12 overall. it just benefits $$$ the two schools and makes them keep thinking themselves as "elite".

Harrell plays hurt versus Baylor and Crabtree goes out with ankle injury...the "real men" of the Big 12

Nov 30, 2008
QB Graham Harrell had two plates and 17 pins inserted into his non-throwing hand
during a four-hour surgery Sunday,
according to a report on ESPN.com.

Dora’s college football poll as of Saturday, October 11th, 2008.

My "one day early" personal prediction for week 7 (Oct. 12)
1) Alabama
2) Texas
3) Penn St.
4) Florida
5) Texas Tech
6) USC
7) BYU
8) Georgia
9) Oklahoma
10) Missouri
Let's see how the AP poll and the USA Today polls rank the teams on Sunday late noon for week # 7.
Tech barely pulled out a win, but nonetheless, it was a win. I am still not convinced that UT is as good as pundits are saying. After all, everyone was on OU's side saying they were the best team in the country and they fell. Neither team is superior right now. Actually, not one team in the entire country is running away with anything. Stats do not mean anything right now- too early. Polls are just ppl's version of which team they "believe" to be the best on that given week. The way OU lost and Mizzou and LSU, it is anyone's guess and any team's national championship to win if they want it the most. Let's see how the sport's pundits pick the top 10 by tomorrow. As I already stated above, these are just my predictions for tomorrow's "official polls" (whatever they mean).
Aside from Tech, I am pulling for Alabama to win the national title or maybe USC can still make a come back or Tim Tebow can get Florida back on top.
Who knows on "any given Saturday".

SAN ANTONIO SILVER STARS TAKE WEST!

READ ALL ABOUT IT, FOLKS! OUR SILVER STARS ARE CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE HISTORY. Just as the Spurs played for a championship not long after Tim Duncan joined the team, the Silver Stars' fortunes changed when Becky Hammon came on board. The Silver Stars moved to San Antonio in 2003 after six seasons in Utah. San Antonio lost in the conference finals last year to eventual champion Phoenix.

OUR NFL TEAMS DID NOT FARE WELL TODAY

DALLAS COWBOYS - 24 (3-1), WASHINGTON REDSKINS - 26 (3-1)
SAN FRANCISCO 49ER'S - 17 (2-2), NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - 31 (2-2)

DALLAS GAME: WHAT A LOSS. CAMPBELL AND COMPANY PLAYED BETTER AND WANTED THE WIN JUST A BIT MORE. ROMO AND 'BOYZ TRIED LIKE HECK TO PULL OUT A WIN IN THE END, BUT THEY RAN OUT OF TIME. WITH NO TIME-OUTS AND A FAILED ATTEMPT AT A NEARLY SUCCESSFUL ONSIDES TRY, OUR 'BOYS TOOK A HEARTFELT LOSS. TO ADD, IT WAS A SOUR NOTE WITH WHICH TO END THE 'BOYZ VS 'SKINS RIVALRY AT TEXAS STADIUM. DALLAS IS PLAYING THEIR FAREWELL TOUR AND WITH THEIR NEXT MEETING W/THE 'SKINS BEING IN WASHINGTON, DALLAS NO LONGER HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REMAIN UNBEATEN AT HOME DURING THE FAREWELL TOUR AND DEFERS THE LOSS TO THE 'SKINS IN THE RIVALRY. THERE'S ALWAYS THE PLAY-OFFS. THE DIE-HARD DALLAS FANS REMAIN LOYAL & PROUD.

49ER'S GAME: NOT SURE OF ALL THE DETAILS AS THEIR GAME IS USUALLY NOT VIEWED IN THIS REGION. IT SOUNDS LIKE REGGIE BUSH HAD AN O.K. GAME. HE IS ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAV PLAYERS STEMMING FROM HIS USC DAYS. DEUCE MCALLISTER SEEMS TO HAVE WREAKED HAVOC FOR THE 49ER'S. HE HAS UNDERGONE 2 COMPLETE KNEE REPLACEMENTS AND THE SAINT'S FANS WERE THRILLED AS HE RAN ONTO THE PLAYING FIELD KNOWING HE WOULD FINALLY BE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO PLAY AGAIN. UNCANNY AS IT SEEMS, ROGER CRAIG, CALLED DEUCE AND WISHED HIM A GOOD GAME. CRAIG IS A FORMER 49ER'S PLAYER AND MCALLISTER'S CHILDHOOD HERO. THE 49ER'S QB, SULLIVAN, SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SACKED SEVERAL TIMES TODAY. THE NEW ORLEAN'S SAINTS OFFENSE WAS PROLIFIC AND ON FIRE TODAY AS WERE THE REDSKINS AGAINST DALLAS.
OUR 49ER FANS WITHIN THE FAMILY ARE ALSO TAKING THEIR LOSS IN STRIDE AND KEEP THEIR LOYALTY INTACT AS WELL.

FOREVER FAITHFUL TO RESPECTIVE TEAMS, WE ALL KEEP OUR CHINS UP.

10. South Florida 5-0 1,035.....10. Georgia 4-1 888......................10. Ohio St.
I ALMOST GOT IT RIGHT, MY OWN PERSONAL POLL WENT WAYWARD WITH USC WHICH I FEEL DESERVED TO BE OUT OF THE TOP 10, AND MAYBE I GAVE OHIO ST. TOO MUCH CREDIT IN LIEU OF GIVING SOME "LUV" TO SOUTH FLORIDA. IT SEEMS THE AP FINALLY GAVE OUR RED RAIDERS SOME RESPECT PLACING THEM AT # 7. I WAS SHOCKED THAT THE USA POLL DID NOT AGREE, BUT AT LEAST THEY GAVE TECH A NICE POSITION AT #8. A GOOD DEAL FOR THE RED RAIDERS BEING THAT THEY WERE IDLE THIS WEEKEND. NEXT SATURDAY, WE OPEN CONFERENCE PLAY VS K-ST AT MANHATTAN, KS.

Tech, K-State Selected for ABC Broadcast

POSTED Sept. 22, 2008 ON TEXASTECH.COM:
The Big 12 Conference announced Monday that ABC has selected ninth-ranked Texas Tech's conference opener at Kansas State for its 2:30 p.m. broadcast Oct. 4. The game is the second of the season on television for the Red Raiders and the first on ABC. The
Red Raiders welcomed a bye week before beginning conference play.
DORA UPDATE/NOTES 9-28-08: THE RED RAIDERS ARE NOW RANKED #7 AP. THIS BYE WEEK IS THE FIRST ONE TECH HAS HAD SINCE 2004. A DETAIL SHARED BY COACH LEACH THIS PAST WEEK ON HIS "RED RAIDER" SHOW ON FOX. JUST A COOL TIDBIT FOR U RED RAIDER FANS SUCH AS MOI!

COLLEGE FOOTBALLS WEEKEND MOCK-UP OF DAVID VS. GOLIATH

WELL, WELL, WELL...THE "SUPPOSED" POWER HOUSES OF FOOTBALL PAGEANTRY HAVE FALLEN.
WHAT AN AWESOME GAME IT WAS TO WATCH THIS THURSDAY EVENING AS WE SAW THE MIGHTY OREGON ST. BEAVERS DEFEAT THE USC TROJANS PRETTY HANDIDLY. IT STARTED A POWER-RANKING CATACLYSM IN THE NCAA POLLS AS WE SAW THE POWER TEAMS SUCCUMB TO THE "LITTLE GUYS". MORE SUPER POWER FOOTBALL ENTITIES TO FOLLOW USC'S LOSING BINGE WERE THE # 3 GEORGIA BULLDOGS WHO LOST TO THE # 8 ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE. # 4 FLORIDA GATORS (TIM TEBOW STILL PLAYED A GOOD GAME), LOST TO UNRANKED OLE MISS.
the #9 WISCONSIN BADGERS LOST TO THE UNRANKED MICHIGAN WOLVERINES. YES, TO MICHAEL PHELPS ALMA MATER. WISCONSIN, I FELT, SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN RANKED HIGHER THAN OUR RED RAIDERS. STUPID, BADGERS.
THE #5 LSU TIGERS WON UGLY & BY A SMIDGE (10 PTS) VS UNRANKED MISSISSIPPI ST; IT MAY COST THEM A NEGATIVE MOVE IN THE POLLS.
#6 MISSOURI AND #10 TEXAS TECH WERE IDLE, BOTH SPORT A 4-0 RECORD.
OTHERS WHO WERE RANKED IN THE AP POLL OR THE COACHES POLL BUT NOT IN THE TOP 10 WERE NOT NOTED BY MOI. CLICK ON http://espn.go.com/ TO VIEW MORE DATA.
MY PREDICTIONS FOR WEEK # 5 RANKINGS ON SUNDAY EARLY EVENING ARE:
USC, FLORIDA AND WISCONSIN WILL DROP OUT OF THE TOP 10. USC MAY STAY IN THE TOP 15, NOT SURE ABOUT FLORIDA, BUT WISCONSIN WILL BARELY HANG IN THE TOP 20. THEY DON'T DESERVE TO STAY, BUT THEY MIGHT IN THE AP POLL, WHICH I DESPISE IN FAVOR OF THE USA TODAY POLL WHICH HAS CONTINUOUSLY RANKED TECH HIGHER THAN THE AP POLL. ANYWAY, THIS IS HOW THE NEW TOP 10 WILL FARE IN MY OPINION ON SUNDAY.
1) OU SOONERS...YUK, BUT THEY EARNED IT. (good for the big 12 - maybe).
2) MIZZOU TIGERS...ANOTHER BIG 12 TEAM (REMEMBER THEIR BOOGER PULLING, BOOGER EATING QB, CHASE DANIELS, WHO SEEMS TO BE HIGH ON SPORT'S PUNDITS HEISMAN RANKINGS...MAYBE OUR TECH QB, HARRELL, SHOULD REVERT TO PICKING HIS NOSE TO GET THAT KIND OF NATIONAL ATTENTION---NOT!).
3) ALAMABA CRIMSON TIDE...NICK SABAN HAS DONE A PHENOM JOB AND ALL TIDE FANS ARE TALKING OF THE SECOND COMING OF A BEAR BRYANT-TYPE FOOTBALL ERA. (Have u seen those bear bryant hats they're donning?)
4) LSU TIGERS...THEY MAY GET THIRD OR EVEN SECOND, BUT I SEE THEM AT #4
5) TEXAS...YES, THOSE STUPID "TEA SIPPERS"...BTW: COLT HAS MORE RUSHING YARDS ON THE TEAM. HE'S GONNA GET HURT SOON. ANOTHER VINCE YOUNG IN THE MANNER THAT THEY ARE NOT REAL TEAM PLAYERS AND WANT TO WIN "SOLO" FOR THE RECOGNITION. TECH WILL TEAR HIM APART, YOU MIND MY WORDS!
6) GEORGIA...I BELIEVE THEY WILL STAY IN THE TOP 10 SINCE THEY LOST TO ANOTHER TOP 10 TEAM AND THEY DID ALMOST RALLY FOR A WIN LATE IN THE 4TH QTR.
7) PENN ST. NITTANY LIONS...YEP, THEY ARE RANKED 12TH THIS WEEK BUT DUE TO THEIR NATIONAL RECOGNITION AND HOW TECH IS STILL BEING DISREGARDED AND NOT TALKED ABOUT AT ALL TO CONTEND FOR A BCS BERTH, I HAVE A BAD FEELING THEY WILL JUMP A FEW SLOTS AND EVEN BE RANKED HIGHER THAN OUR RED RAIDERS. OUR RED RAIDERS ARE BEING TREATED LIKE RODNEY DANGERFIELD, IF YOU GET MY DRIFT.
8) TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS...SHOULD BE 6 IF I HAD A VOTE IN THIS.
9) BYU...WHICH WAS ALSO IDLE THIS WEEK AND #11 LAST WEEK @ 4-0.
10) OHIO ST...YES, THE BUCKEYES MIGHT GET BACK INTO THE TOP 10 PER MY OPINION.
SO, FOLKS AND FOLKETTES, IT IS 10:58 PM SATURDAY 9-27-08 AND THESE ARE MY RANKINGS. IT WILL PROBABLY NOT LOOK THE SAME AS THE AP OR USA, BUT IT WILL BE CLOSE. OUR RED RAIDERS SHOULD BE # 6, BUT I DOUBT THE SPORT'S WORLD IS READY TO ADMIT THAT OR TO EVEN GIVE US HALF THE CREDIT. ONE THING FOR SURE, THEY (SPORT'S WORLD) CANNOT STIFFLE US "LITTLE GUYS" ANYMORE AS WAS PROVEN THIS COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK BY THE LIKES OF OREGON STATE, OLE MISS, AND MICHIGAN. THEY REMINDED US THAT THE BIGGER SCHOOLS, WITH MORE MONEY AND MORE CLOUT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN THEY ARE BETTER OR MORE READY THAN THE SMALLER SCHOOLS. YES, SIR, THE UNDER-DOGS BEAT THE PREDICTED WINNERS WHO ENDED UP BEING THE PROJECTED LOSERS.
PROVING MY THEORY...DAVID VS GOLIATH

THE DEMISE OF THE SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE

THE RAZORBACKS (PIGS) OF ARKANSAS WERE THE FIRST TO MAKE THE LEAP FROM THE S.W.C. THEY WANTED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY WITH SO CALLED BETTER TEAMS WITH BETTER REPUTATIONS IN SPORTS (WHATEVER, ARKANSAS). SOON TO FOLLOW AND MAKE THEIR OWN DEPARTURE FROM THE SWC WERE TEXAS CHRISTIAN (TCU-HORNED FROGS) AND SOUTHERN METHODIST (SMU MUSTANGS); THEY ENDED UP PART OF CONFERENCE U.S.A. RICE UNFORTUNATELY WAS LEFT TO FEND FOR THEIR LONE SELVES, BUT AS WE ALL KNOW, THEY ARE NOT A UNIVERSITY KNOWN FOR THEIR SPORTS, THEY ARE A VERY ACADEMICALLY DEMANDING U AND THEY EVENTUALLY FOUND A HOME. IT WAS THE BIG 8 WHO APPROACHED OUR RED RAIDERS, THE LONGHORNS, THE AGGIES AND FINALLY THE BEARS TO JOIN THEIR CONFERENCE. EACH UNIVERSITY ACCEPTED AND THUS WAS THE BIG 12 WAS BORN.
TO ADD, ARKANSAS FOR THE PAST 2 OR 3 SEASONS HAS HINTED AT LEAVING THEIR CURRENT CONFERENCE AND TRIED TO GET THE BIG 12 TO ADD THEM AND TO DROP BAYLOR INSTEAD. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. THE NCAA REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 8 TEAMS PER CONFERENCE AND A MAXIMUM OF 12. IN ORDER TO ALLOW ARKANSAS IN THE BIG 12, THEY WOULD NEED TO RID ITSELF OF ONE TEAM. LIKE IS WROTE, ARKANSAS HINTS FOR THE RELEASE OF BAYLOR, BUT THE PREVIOUS SWC SCHOOLS REMEMBER HOW THEY LEFT SO ABRUPTLY, AND REMEMBER THE LOYALTY OF BAYLOR. THE BEARS MAY LACK IN HAVING A POWERFUL SPORTS DEPT, BUT THEY ARE LOYAL AND THAT SEEMS TO COUNT IN THESE TIMES AND I REALLY ADMIRE THAT FACT. BESIDES, BAYLOR HAS HAD A NEW FOOTBALL COACH WHO LOOKS TO HAVE THEM ON TRACK TO GET WAY BETTER. SO, ARKANSAS, GO DO YOUR PIG CALLS ELSEWHERE BECAUSE THE BIG 12 DOES NOT WANT YOU OR NEED YOU.

BIG 12 SOUTH INCLUDES (IN ALPHA ORDER):
· BAYLOR BEARS
· OKLAHOMA SOONERS
· OKLAHOMA ST. COWBOYS
· TEXAS A&M AGGIES
· TEXAS LONGHORNS
· TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS
BIG 12 NORTH INLCUDES (IN ALPHA ORDER):
· COLORADO BUFFALOES
· IOWA ST. CYCLONES
· KANSAS JAYHAWKS
· KANSAS ST. COUGARS
· MISSOURI TIGERS
· NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS

WHERE DID ALL THE CHEAP TIX GO? MS. “FRUGAL” WANTS TO KNOW!

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED IN NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCATE TEXAS TECH TICKETS (TIX) FOR MY FAMILY FOR THIS SATURDAY’S FOOTBALL GAME. THE UMASS (MASSACHUSETTS) MINUTEMEN ARE GOING TO LUBBOCK TO PLAY OUR RED RAIDERS. ANYWAY, I MANAGED TO SCORE SOME VERY, VERY INEXPENSIVE TECH TIX ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO RIGHT WHEN I BOUGHT TIX FOR THE SMU MUSTANGS GAME. NOW THAT OUR BELOVED RED RAIDERS ARE ON A WIN-STREAK AND HAVE BROKEN THE TOP 10 (AP POLL), THE DEMAND FOR TIX HAS RISEN SO MUCH THAT THEY ARE SOLD OUT AT THE TECH TICKET OFFICE AND THEIR ONLINE TICKET HOUSE. TO ADD, THE TIX ARE NOW A HOT COMMODITY ON THE VARIOUS WEB SITES THAT CATER TO PPL LOOKING FOR SPORTING EVENT TIX. SOME HAVE ONLY ONE TICKET TO SELL, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT NONSENSE? I AM GOING TO LIST THE NUMEROUS SITES I SEARCHED AND WHAT I DISCOVERED. TRUE TO THEIR REPUTATION, STUB HUB WAS THE ONLY ONE WHERE ONE COULD ACTUALLY PURCHASE MULTIPLE TIX FOR A DECENT PRICE.
MY GRIPE WITH THE ATHLETIC WORLD, NOT JUST WITH OUR FAVORITE UNIVERSITY (TECH), BUT WITH ALL UNIVERSITIES AND EVEN THE PROS IS THAT THEY WANT NEW STADIUMS AND WHEN THEY GET THEM, IT IS WE THE FANS WHO SUFFER AND END UP ACTUALLY FOOTING THE BILL DUE TO THE HIGH TICKET PRICES. REGARDLESS OF WHATEVER BONDS END UP GETTING PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CONSTITUENTS OF SAID TOWNS/CITIES WHICH LAY lSCHOOLS, ETC…END UP GETTING RICH. I WON’T EVEN MENTION WHAT PSL’S ARE GOING FOR. AND THAT IS NOT INCLUDING THE COSTS OF THE ACTUAL TIX. THE PSL CONCEPT IS A JOKE FOR THE FANS, BUT AN INDIRECT PLOY FOR THE OWNERS TO RIP US OFF.
ANYWAY, HERE IS HOW THINGS WENT AWRY WHEN I TRIED TO LOCATE TIX FOR THIS SATURDAY’S GAME, I AM LISTING IT PER WEB SITE AND RESPECTIVE DATA (costs, location, etc…):
EXTRATIX.COM…HAD ONLY 1 TICKET IN SECTION 120 @ $65
FINDTICKETSFAST.COM…1 TICKETS, SECT. 120 FOR DISCOUNTED PRICE (SO THEY THINK) @ $44
ONLINESEATS.COM…1 TICKET, SECT. 120 @ $50
STUBHUB.COM…4 TICKETS, SECT. 120 @ $ 79 (WOW, I GUESS THEY CHARGED MORE BECAUSE THEY HAD MORE TIX TO SELL)
THESEATS.COM…1 TICKET, SECT. 120 @ $50
TICKETCITY.COM…1 TICKET, SECT. 120 @ $40
TICKETLIQUIDATOR.COM…1 TICKET, SECT. 120 @ $44
TICKETLUCK.COM…1 TICKET, SECT. 120 @ $ 43
BARRYSTICKETS.COM…THEIR SITE WAS TOO SLOW, THE SERVER TIMED OUT SO I GAVE UP
CHEAPTICKETS.COM…SOLD OUT
TICKETSTOGO.COM…SOLD OUT
IT SEEMS SO UNCANNY HOW THESE VARIOUS WEB SITES HAD JUST ONE TICKET TO SELL. I COULD NEVER FIND OUT WHICH SEAT EACH SITE HAD TO SELL; THIS INFO COULD ONLY BE OBTAINED ONCE THE BUYER PLACED THE ORDER OR ACTUALLY WHEN A MEMBERSHIP WAS FILLED OUT. I WONDER IF IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE SAME SEAT BEING SOLD AT EACH TICKET HOUSE. IT WOULDN’T SURPRISE ME ONE BIT.

'BOYS played a heckuva game on MNF

It was close and I almost regretted my earlier post from late Sunday night, but something in me knew the Cowboys were ready to win. I knew it all depended on our offense being able to give Romo enough time to pass the ball and that we needed to score each time we possessed the ball. It was a heart stopper when Domo Romo (Domo- Japanese for "thanks") gave up 14 points in under a minute. I was so angry, but I knew it would somehow be okay as long as the team pulled together and did not start arguing amongst each other. Which is exactly what they did; they kept their composure and came out with the "W". The Eagles are good, but it still should have been a bigger lead for our 'BOYZ versus them (Eagles). It still goes back to Romo's foul up. Yes, when he screws up he really screws up big, but at least it occurred early on in the game for him to make up for it. The last major screw ups ala Romo the past two seasons just happened to catch him (Romo) with little to no time to make a come back. Even Romo himself after the game told the ESPN field reporter that when he found himself caught in the end zone trying to run after the loose ball and ended up letting Philly score a TD, he thought to himself...'I suck'. That endeared him to me, personally, as I have been very critical of his non-chalant ways of handling his/their previous screw-ups. Good to hear him take accountability and not say 'we're just having fun'.
Now Dallas just needs to take this season one game at a time. The league (NFC, AFC) is good and our own conference (
NFC East) is very, very strong and competitive. Even though I say that he Eagles and Redskins are the worse in our conference...they are still tough contenders; it is awesome to see that the worse 2 teams in our conference still rank very high in the entire NFL. Pundits and myself agree that this makes Dallas and New York the best in the NFL with the "BOYZ leading the way.
Now the Dallas Cowboys need to show the world they can win a playoff game and more...si se puede!

DALLAS VS. PHILLY...

Eagles...get readyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooooooooo...fumble.
DALLAS is waiting for you!
(click for dallas official web site)
I may be pre-empting (ala Bush Doctrine) my prediction for Monday night's game, over a few non-believers on the east coast blogs, but I believe our 'BOYZ will finally face a challenging team, but make no mistake, we will win. Several
Sport's pundits make the same prediction I just did. Romo can often seem non-chalant and it drives several of us fans crazy, but maybe he is genius in doing so in order to ward off the opponents into thinking they can win because he is not as serious as he should be - we soon shall see. Romo's dumb girlfriend, Jessica (you know who), is more of the trash-talker and it was a bit embarrassing last week when she was on the TODAY SHOW making enemies of all Eagles and their fans by what she said. she has no right to do so, our 'BOYZ can do their own trash-talking. romo needs to tighten that belt & let off some tough rhetoric about how the team will take on any opponent and come out with a win. he's a clutch quarterback and has earned the right to "talk the talk". terrell owens can represent our team just fine in the comments dept. who better to do so this game since he was booted off the cry-baby eagle's team. Dallas is far superior to Philly this season. donovan "McGabb" keep up your own smack-talk, terrell is ready for you-he will help score touchdown after touchdown and when the game is over, donny won't know what hit him. eagles think you are a team to watch in our conference, and yes, you are. it will be fun watching week after week to see which of this conference's team will be worse...the eagles or the redskins. that's my story, if wrong, oh well, but i doubt it.

Red Raiders break top 10 in USA Today Poll

Our Tech game went off without a hitch (sort of)...although an excellent day for a game and a good game overall, our Red Raiders seemed a bit bored at the on-set of the game and did not put away the SMU Ponies as they could have. The officiating was also horrible. I wonder if the officials were from either Austin (we know the history on those blokes) or from Conference USA (home to SMU). Our Red Raiders still came away with the "W". Worth the wait for Harrell, Crabtree, Morris, Woods, Batch and the entire defense line (esp. Charbonnet) to put this game in the bag. The second stringers came out late into the second half when the game was too far over for SMU to try to rally. The only disappointment was in our second stringers allowing their second stringers to score with just about 3 minutes left in the game. It would have been sweet to not have allowed them to score...a real shut-out. Oh, well. Like I said, at least it goes in the "W" column.

Texas Tech vs. SMU

The game will go on today as officially reported on texastech.com (kick-off at 6 PM, will be aired on local Fox stations).
As I stated earlier, the Mustangs are in town (Lubbock) hoping to end our bid at a BCS game this year. Well, folks, it ain't gonna happen. We have too much power on the offense and our defense is finally on track to create havoc for our nemesis.
Our challenges come the way of Nebraska (yes, they always seem to do well vs Big 12 opponents even if they are not nationally ranked & they do stink again). I do not sweat over this game, but we need to be mindful of their desire to win back their "manhood" after Tech took it during the last outing when Tech whipped them 70-10. Others keeping us (Red Raiders) on their toes, per se, are Kansas, Kansas St, and the lowly OSU Cowboys (too bad they share the same mascot as our "Boyz" in Dallas). OSU always gets fire lit under their feet versus our Red Raiders.
Other perrennial powers are the Sooners from Okie-land and the tea sippers from Austin "al-a-grade F-beef" Longhorns. I strongly believe we can beat OU again and UT is not in our league this season - never mind what the sport's pundits think (or little Colt McCoy- the "baby-cry").
Gotta go get ready. Sara, Alex, Marissa (Alex's friend) and I are attending tonight's game. We were really hoping Felicia (my other niece and another great Red Raider fan) could go with us, but she has important things to do which includes driving to Midland with her mom, Eva, and sister, Erica. Erica is my niece who is marrying her fiance, Nick, next June 13, 2009. Today, they venture into town to start looking at wedding gowns. My sister, Josie, is going with them. I hope our Mom joins them as well. Lot's of luck to them, it will be fun.
Next Tech game is next week versus UMass (we also scored cheap tickets for that game-so we are on again next Saturday). Another evening game.
