Tidbits Stages and Jerseys: Stage wins and jeresy classification wins!

*Stage Wins: the first rider to cross the finish line each day, of course, wins that stage.  The 21 stages (21 days) of the 2010 Tour de France are divided up as follows: 9 flat stages, 6 mountain stages, 4 medium altitude stages, 1 individual time-trial and 1 prologue.  Prize money: € 8,000 ($10,337 U.S. dollars) for each stage victory.  Overall prize money: € 475,000 in total ($613,748 U.S. dollars).  The stage victory has been sponsored by Powerbar.
*Yellow Jersey Prize money: It is worn by the leader of the general individual time classification.  Prize money: € 450,000 ($581,445 U.S. dollars) for the outright winner in GC.  Overall prize money: € 1,000,000 in total ($1.29 million U.S. dollars) The Yellow Jersey has been sponsored by LCL le Crédit Lyonnais since 1987. 
*Green Jeresy Prize money: € 25,000 ($32,303 U.S. dollars) for the winner of the classification on points.  Overall prize money: € 145,400 in total ($187,871 U.S. dollars).  The Green Jersey has been sponsored by PMU (Pari Mutuel Urbain) since 1992.
*Red Polka Dot Jersey Prize money: € 25,000 ($32,303 U.S. dollars) for the winner of the “mountain classification”.  Overall prize money: € 106,750 in total ($137,932 U.S. dollars).  The Polka Dot Jersey has been sponsored by Carrefour.
*White Jersey Prize money: € 20,000 ($25,842 U.S. dollars) for the best young rider.  Overall prize money: € 66,500 in total ($85,925 U.S. dollars).  The White Jersey has been sponsored by Škoda since 2004.
*Team Jersey Prize money: € 50,000 ($64,605 U.S. dollars) for the winning team.  No jersey is presented in this category.  The team is awarded a yellow banner with black numbers (to wear on his jersey) each day they hold the classification and ultimately the championship.  Overall Prize money: € 176,000 in total ($227,410 U.S. dollars).  The team classification has been sponsored by Digital. 
*Most aggressive rider: a.k.a combative rider: This distinction is awarded at the end of each stage by a jury made up of eight cycling specialists. An outright winner is designated after the last stage of the Tour.  Prize money: € 20,000 ($25,842 U.S. dollars) for the outright winner.  Overall prize money: € 56,000 in total ($72,358 U.S. dollars).  The Most aggressive rider Prize has been sponsored by Brandt since 2005.
